2 day Working with Mental Health and Harmful Substances Workshop

Working with Mental Health and Harmful Substances Workshop - Dual Diagnosis

The 2 day Working with Mental Health and Harmful Substances Workshop explores the co-occurring problems of mental illness and substance misuse. However, the term 'dual' is something of a misnomer - the needs of this client group are often highly complex and extend beyond the relatively simplistic scenario implied by the term 'dual diagnosis'. This course uses realistic scenarios to enable participants to look at the reasons why mentally ill clients are so prone to drug and alcohol problems, the potential consequences of dual diagnosis, and current assessment and treatment approaches.
